Important Values
The
three values that are important to me are appreciation, empathy, and integrity.
These values are essential to have a team that enjoys collaborating with you daily.
We all love to be appreciated and when you show this sincerely it makes people
feel comfortable in your presence.
As a
leader, it is important to show gratitude to the people you work with because
it uplifts them and builds their confidence. Some leaders do not understand
that it is the smallest things that are said that can make an employee feel
like they belong to something special. Plus, being a leader who is empathetic
means a lot to employees who may be going through a tough time in their
personal lives. It can really make the difference in whether the employee stays
with the company or not.
Most
people deal with similar issues every day and having someone who is easy to
communicate with helps them deal with the situation and move forward. Also,
associating with people who live and thrive on integrity is a game-changer that
will have you on the winning side of a conflict gone bad.
Having
integrity is one of the best values a leader can have especially when you have
to communicate changes and new ideas.
My
values are essential to be an effective leader because when communicating with
my team they actually listen to what I have to say and feel comfortable asking
questions to better understand the reason for the meetings.
These
values support my executive presence because of the sincere approach to making
them all feel empowered to make decisions that will help to improve the team’s
performance. I have seen the impact that it has on our team because we are now
talking more to each other than at each other and our communication has also
improved because we now let one another know about any changes that may have
not been shared that more than likely should have, and this has had a very
positive impact on our daily operations.
Therefore,
as a leader, it is very important to have such values in order to achieve the
goals that are set for the team. I find it extremely exciting when you can
bring others up the ladder with you.
